    Do you want to represent the state of Georgia at the Schweppes® Great Chowder Cook-Off held in Newport, Rhode Island on Saturday, June 2nd 2012?

    The Schweppes® Great Chowder Cook-Off is the oldest and longest-running chowder championship in the country, and has been featured on the Food Network and CBS Early Show.

    As a special offer to your membership, the Georgia Restaurant Association will comp the competition entry fee for the first qualified competitor to represent Georgia in the Schweppes® Great Chowder Cook-Off (a $250 value).

    OBJECTIVES OF THE CONTEST:
    California Raisin growers seek to recognize and reward the creativity of America’s professional and student bakers and encourage new product development.
    On behalf of our growers, the California Raisin Marketing Board hopes to increase awareness of the endless varieties of bread products that can be made from the best selling, all natural, dried fruit product in the world – California Raisins.
    The California Raisin industry seeks to help commercialize as many California Raisin breads as possible for consumers to enjoy.

    CONTEST DATES:
    The contest begins January 1, 2012. All entries accepted through July 15, 2012. All Applications are to be received 
    during this time and postmarked by due date.
    • Preliminary Judging – August 2012.
    • Final Bake-off, Judging and Awards Ceremony  –  October 11-13, 2012.

    CONTEST FINALS
    Nine (9) finalists from each Professional category and three (3) from each Student category will be chosen to participate in the Final Bake-off.

    ELIGIBLE CONTESTANTS
    • Bakers and Research & Development staff of commercial baking companies
     • Craft Bakers and Retail Shop Owners/Managers
     • Certifi ed Baking Teachers
     • Students in Accredited Baking Programs
     • Bakery Technicians at Bakery Supply Wholesalers, Flour Milling Companies and Other Allied Bakery Ingredient Suppliers
     • Participants must be 18 years and older

    Crave Brothers Farmstead Classics Cheese is calling on foodservice chefs to submit recipes for the Mad About Crave Brothers Mascarpone Contest. Each competition category (small plates, entrees, and desserts) will have a first place winner, whose prize package included $300 and inclusion in a widely distributed recipe booklet. The grand prize winner will be awarded an Apple iPad 2 as well as a media campaign.

    Wine Australia is launching its 3rd Annual Australian Regional Immersion Program, in which market development managers will be hosting six 2-hour educational sessions for the U.S. wine trade and media in nine major cities (New York City, Boston, Miami, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Seattle, Austin, Dallas and New Orleans).

    The program concludes with an all-expenses paid two week trip to Australia for the top two participants of each city.
