FAQs: Georgia Restaurant Association

Just what is the Georgia Restaurant Association?
A non-profit association composed of foodservice operators and suppliers of the industry who realize the importance of working together for the good of the industry. The GRA is the voice of the Georgia foodservice industry.

Where is the GRA located?
The Association state headquarters is located at 480 East Paces Ferry Road, Suite 7, Atlanta, Georgia, 30305. The telephone number is (404) 467-9000 - FAX number is (404) 467-2206.

Does the Association set up rules and regulations, which members must follow?
No. Each member runs his or her own business. The Association cannot and will not tell you how to run your business, however, the Association does have a Code of Ethics by which members abide.

As a successful businessperson, who has never belonged to the Association, why should I join?
You cannot argue with success...but most successful operations would like to do even better. Our membership is composed of successful operators and suppliers who retain their membership in the Association in order to take advantage of money saving services...learn new ideas and methods...and keep abreast of the rapidly changing foodservice field.

Well, if you are working for the good of the industry, what you do benefits me anyway, doesn’t it?
Yes, in many ways it does. However, membership in the GRA ensures that your voice is heard, on those issues that matter most to you. The real benefits go to the members who get new ideas and information in advance - in time to take advantage of them and stay ahead of their competition.

I don't want my competitor prying into my business.
And they don't want you prying into theirs. But you have mutual problems common to all foodservice operations and your Association is working through and with its members to find the solution to these problems. None of your private affairs are ever passed on to anyone else even though you make them known to the Association.

Just why should I belong to the Georgia Restaurant Association?
For exactly the same reason you belong to a civic club, a church, the Chamber of Commerce or any other organization working for the good of the community in which you live or the industry of which you are part.
