First, request clarification from the Environmental Health Specialist (EHS) who is making the inspection. Then, if you are not satisfied with the score, the food service operator can seek clarification by contacting the EHS’s supervisor. If you are still not satisfied, the next step would be for the food service operator to contact the Deputy Director of Environmental Health. Finally, if you are still not satisfied, the next step would be for the food service operator to contact the Director of Health and Wellness.
By following these procedures, restaurant owners can ensure full transparency with the health department and further understand their score.
