By Karen Bremer, Executive Director of the Georgia Restaurant Association
Restaurateurs and operators have their hands full when it comes to all of the different components that it takes to run and operate a restaurant. The Georgia Restaurant Association (GRA) believes in offering the industry the tools and resources they need to help make running their operation easier and more profitable. One beneficial resource for those in the restaurant industry is the Atlanta Foodservice Expo (AFSE), the only event in Georgia and the Southeast to bring together sectors of the restaurant, foodservice and hospitality industry under one roof.
Additionally, the GRA will be hosting a Chairman’s Reception following the AFSE show on Monday, October 13th in support of the GRA PAC, the only Political Action Committee dedicated to serving the restaurant industry in Georgia. The Chairman’s Reception will take place in lieu of the Annual Chairman’s Luncheon and will be a great opportunity for the restaurant industry to come out and network and support Georgia’s robust restaurant industry.
The GRA is a strong supporter of the AFSE because it is an important component of the restaurant industry, providing a great opportunity for those in the restaurant industry to network and stay informed on the latest products, services and technologies from a broad spectrum of top suppliers in the industry. Attendees will learn about upcoming trends and products to help them stay ahead of the game. The expo will also offer a comprehensive educational program that will provide foodservice operators with key tools to grow and enhance their business. Topics such as food costing, recruitment and retention of staff, allergy training, social media marketing and more will be covered. Also, the educational sessions will have specific designations or tracks that will adhere to specific groups of people such as single-unit vs. multi-unit operators, assistant managers, general managers, or owners.
The Show Management team at AFSE also enlists the help of an Advisory Council, whose purpose is to ensure the show meets the needs of the local industry. The Council consists of 19 industry leaders to assist with the continued development of the event and ensure the needs of the local industry are well served at the show.
In the restaurant industry, having the necessary tools to run your business efficiently and effectively is key. The AFSE will offer members of the restaurant industry the chance to learn how they can make their operation "run faster, cleaner, better, tastier."
All GRA restaurant members will have access to a free show badge. For more information, visit our website at www.garestuarants.org.
