Fulton County Health Services on the Cutting Edge of Promoting Green Restaurants

Webinar scheduled for restaurant owners and operators

The Fulton County Department of Health Services is on the cutting edge in promoting opportunities for environmentally sustainable practices for the local food service industry. Restaurant owners and operators are invited to learn about the benefits of operating a sustainable “green” restaurant and the added benefit of being certified as a “green” operation.  A webinar is scheduled for 3:00 pm – 3:40 pm (Eastern Standard Time) on December 8, 2011.  To Register

The Green Restaurant Program supports Fulton County restaurants who participate by reducing waste, conserving energy and water, using greener chemicals, protecting health through smoke-free environments, and procuring more sustainable packaging and building materials.  Participation in the program is voluntary and open to permitted food service establishments.

Fulton County has partnered with the Green Restaurant Association to implement the Green Restaurant Association’s highly esteemed environmental certification program throughout the County’s 4,700 restaurants.  Restaurants that meet particular environmental accomplishments will be able to boast a 2, 3 or 4 Star Certified Green Restaurant® co-branded between Green Restaurant Association and Fulton County.

For more information about the webinar or the Green Restaurant Association, please call (404) 613-1301 or log-on to www.fultoncountygahealth.org.
