Georgia’s restaurant industry plays a key role in economic and tourism development and is instrumental for the success of local communities. The value that restaurants provide is vast and having a strong legislative voice is key to making sure that the industry is well-represented, protected against legislation that can hurt business and that the contribution of restaurants is recognized.
Through membership, the GRA is able to advocate for restaurants at Georgia’s Capitol which allows for restaurants to focus on their business while we focus on the issues. Our members are also instrumental with their continuous support throughout numerous initiatives. Through their contribution to the GRA-PAC, the only Political Action Committee dedicated to serving the restaurant industry in Georgia, the GRA is able to protect the bottom line for the entire foodservice industry, engage in activities to enhance the advocacy position of the association and promote the restaurant industry’s importance to Georgia's economy and community.
Another way that our members can show support is through their participation in the annual GRA Golf Tournament, which also raises funds for the GRA-PAC and is a great opportunity for our members to network with their peers while supporting the industry. This year, the GRA Golf Tournament will take place on Monday, June 15, 2015 at Atlanta Athletic Club in Johns Creek, Ga.
Our members also play a key role in our advocacy mission by asking their elected officials to support certain bills, showcasing their restaurant to elected officials at the GRA’s annual Taste of Georgia Legislative Reception and through numerous other measures. This dedication allows the GRA to establish a strong advocacy team, which ensures that your restaurant is getting the best representation in front of key individuals.
The GRA is only as strong as our membership base and we could not be successful without the commitment and backing of our members. As we continue to fight for Georgia’s restaurants, we want to hear from you about what issues are most important for your business so that we can help ease the burden. Through your support, the GRA can continue to serve as the voice of the industry and as the strongest supporter and largest advocate for Georgia’s restaurants.
