More than 100 Georgia ProStart educators and high school students participated in the two-day event, which culminated with the disbursement of more than $5,000 in food and products for the Atlanta Food Bank. The educators and students worked alongside celebrity chefs to prepare for the Taste of the NFL, a charity tasting event attended by more than 2,500 guests each year.
The Hospitality Education Foundation of Georgia is a statewide educational foundation that connects culinary arts and hospitality classrooms with the industry resources and opportunities that connect young people to careers in the hospitality industry.
ProStart is a two-year program developed by the National Restaurant Association that teaches students culinary techniques and management skills. In partnership with the Georgia Restaurant Association, HEFG administers the ProStart program for the state of Georgia.
