The GRAF is the only 501(c)(3) non-profit foodservice foundation dedicated to investing in our yout and workforce in Georgia.  Your participation will help support ProStart® and enrichment opportunities like mentorships, job-training, training for teachers, and scholarships.

By bringing together the industry and the classroom, the Georgia ProStart® culinary program gives students a platform to discover new interests and talents to open doors for fulfilling careers. From culinary techniques to management skills, ProStart’s industry-driven curriculum provides real-life experience opportunities and builds practical skills and a foundation that will last a lifetime. With national and local support from industry members, educators, the National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation (NRAEF) and state restaurant association partners, ProStart® reaches nearly 140,000 students in more than 1,800 high schools across 50 states, the Territory of Guam and at Department of Defense Education Activity schools in Europe and the Pacific. 

National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation (NRAEF) Restaurant & Hospitality Leadership Center (RHLC)

RHLC provides employers with accredited training programs for Line Cook, Kitchen Manager and Restaurant Manager. We give you the tools and resources to help guide your employees to a fulfilling restaurant career.  RHLC’s Registered Apprenticeship Programs compliment the Youth Readiness and Employer Advancement programs which help all within the Industry overcome barriers which lead to success.

Kennesaw State University Culinary Program

Kennesaw State University (KSU) offers a culinary program to students interested in the culinary arts. KSU’s unique program is based on 4 hours of classroom per week, coupled with 15 hours in that same week working in an established restaurant or catering facility. Each student completes (4) 7-week apprenticeships to successfully complete the course. Classroom study is immediately put to practice so that the knowledge and skill base stays with the student throughout the program.

Interested in a culinary career? Helms College is a private, independent postsecondary career school sponsored by Goodwill Industries of Middle Georgia, Inc. and licensed by the Georgia Non-Public Post-Secondary Education Commission. Earn your diploma or Associate Degree while discovering your strengths and building your skill set through extensive integrative and experiential learning opportunities. United Youth of America

United Youth of America is a non-profit organization servicing the needs of underprivileged young adults, ages 18 to 24. This organization works with several counties throughout Georgia to place students in paid apprenticeship programs. The county agrees to cover a certain amount of the wages and labor taxes during a 6 month period.
