The first-ever Georgia Gives Day was an inspiring day of raising awareness and support for the state’s nonprofits. Through a massive statewide media campaign, they reached millions of Georgians with a powerful message about the work and worth of nonprofits in their communities. Responding to the energy of Georgia Gives Day, over 7,200 donations have been received, totaling nearly $800,000 in contributions to 1,300 participating nonprofits statewide.

The Georgia Gives Day website is a year-round platform and still open for donations. Nonprofit organizations that are not currently on the website will be able to enroll shortly, in order to leverage this opportunity to capture end of year giving.

Beyond the funds received, the Georgia Gives initiative is accomplishing something much more: it has catalyzed a community of passionate people and organizations to work together to build support for the nonprofit sector. Together, they have started a powerful annual giving movement in Georgia that will only continue to grow.
