Raymond Mesa

I help build the future of Georgia’s restaurant and hospitality workforce through the GRA Foundation. As Foundation Manager, I collaborate with students, educators, community partners, industry leaders, and GRA members to expand workforce development opportunities across the state. I oversee the ProStart program, Restaurant Ready, and the Georgia ProStart Invitational, while creating hands-on experiences that connect young people to culinary arts, restaurant management, hospitality careers, scholarships, and real-world industry opportunities. I also support membership engagement by connecting members with workforce initiatives that strengthen their businesses and develop the industry's future talent pipeline.

Favorite vacation destination?
Japan. I lived there growing up, so it will always feel special to me. I love the culture, the food, the views, and, of course, anime and manga.

What’s one thing you can’t live without?
Laughing with my friends and family, air conditioning, and a good playlist.

What motivates you?
Making an impact on the world one person at a time. One of my favorite quotes is, “Be the people who impact the people who impact the people who impact the people.”

Road trip or airplane?
Airplane. I love a good road trip, but the road can only get me so far.
