As the coronavirus hits workers in the food service industry with an unbridled force, entities across metro Atlanta are trying to find ways to help.
On Friday and Saturday, Café Intermezzo — along with various partners — will distribute 2,500 boxes of groceries to food service industry workers.
The boxes, which will be available one-per family on a first-come basis, will be distributed in four shifts at Café Intermezzo’s Midtown location. There will be 625 boxes distributed in each shift.
To prove eligibility, bring an ID along with a pay stub; a uniform with logo; an unemployment letter; or company ID.
The shifts are broken up by last name:
8 a.m.-noon, Friday: Last names starting with R-Z.
1-5 p.m., Friday: Last names starting with L-Z.
8 a.m.-noon, Saturday: Last names starting with E-K.
The partners for the event include US Foods, WestRock, Bulldog Movers, SpeedPro, the Dewberry Group and NCR Corporation.
