Advocacy Update l Congress Approves Government-Reopening Bill With Major THC Restriction

Legal + Regulatory,

In the deal to end the recent federal government shutdown, Congress included a provision that would ban most hemp-derived THC products. The funding package—which reopened the government—now prohibits the sale of consumable hemp items that contain any “quantifiable” amount of THC or similar cannabinoids, including products like delta-8, delta-10, THCA flower, and THC-infused beverages.

Stay tuned for how this provision will be implemented and what it means for state-legal hemp industries and advocacy efforts moving forward.
