Advocacy Update l Wage and Hour Division Relaunches PAID Program

The Payroll Audit Independent Determination (PAID) program has been relaunched by the U.S. Department of Labor. Originally introduced in 2018, it now includes Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) violations in addition to Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) wage issues. The program allows employers to voluntarily resolve payroll and leave violations quickly, without litigation costs, while ensuring employees receive owed back wages and FMLA remedies. The relaunch also introduces new tools and resources to support compliance and encourages proactive correction of payroll or leave errors.
